The premium 24 oz/sq polypropylene fiber system dries quickly and is designed to resist fading and rot. When the mat is wet, the rubber-reinforced surface allows water to be wicked to the bottom, away from foot traffic, while providing a slip-resistant surface. This polypropylene fiber system is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

The mat's colorfast, solution-dyed polypropylene fibers offer excellent resistance to light and weather. Its unique ridged construction effectively stores dirt and moisture beneath the shoe level, while the exclusive "Water Dam" border keeps dirt and water contained within the mat, minimizing slip hazards and floor damage.

The mat's green-friendly rubber backing contains 20% recycled rubber content. The exclusive rubber-reinforced face nubs prevent the pile from crushing in high-traffic areas, maintaining high performance and extending the product's lifespan. The mat should not be used in areas exposed to animal fats or petroleum products, but it is not adversely affected by salt or ice melt.

The WaterHog mat is certified slip-resistant by the National Floor Safety Institute and is recommended for use in a variety of settings, including computer rooms, around electronic equipment, malls, banks, hotels, offices, restaurants, healthcare facilities, and supermarkets. With a 1/4" nub height and a square "waffle" design, the WaterHog mat has a thickness of 0.190" for the nubs, 0.050" between the nubs, and 0.110" for the border. It passes the Flammability Standard DOC-FF-1-70, has a maximum average voltage of 1.6 KV as measured by the AATCC 134 Electrostatic Propensity Test, and meets IBM's minimum standard for electrical resistance (NFPA99). The mat also meets the ASTM C 1028-29 Static Coefficient of Friction standard, with a dry rating of 0.70.
